Ron Specht

Born in Rochester, New York, Ron spent a good deal of time in his father’s workshop helping to create interesting crafts from odds and ends around the shop. As a young man fresh out of college he traveled to wherever the sun would shine learning carpentry, and remodeling. After this brief apprenticeship Specialty Construction was Ron’s first business specializing in Commercial interior design, home remodeling and construction.

After many years of swinging hammers, Ron worked in sales and sales management. As a marketing specialist and motivational speaker he continued his travels.  It was during his travels that he met his wife Rebecca.  She brought him back to construction and to Ohio with the purchase of a 60-year-old farmhouse in Westerville. Now in it’s 12th year of a 2 year remodeling project. (Think “The Money Pit”)

Ron has been working as a Kitchen Specialist and Customer Project Coordinator for the past 6 years. He also appears weekly as the Home Improvement Expert on NBC-4 Television in Columbus. With an insatiable love for puns, his charm and personality are easily transmitted on camera.

When he is not working you can find him remodeling his home, sailing on Lake Erie or watching NASCAR.  He enjoys working with the local Habitat for Humanity, Toastmasters, The National Kidney Foundation of Ohio, NBC-4’s Army and Team Depot -organizations dedicated to helping the community.

Jeanne Hogan

A native of Houston, Texas, Jeanne Hogan spent nearly a decade working in television news. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Jeanne started her career in Midland, Texas as a general assignment reporter. She then went on to anchor an 11 pm newscast in Clarksburg, West Virginia.  Jeanne spent a few years on the other side of the camera producing television news in Richmond, Virginia where she won an Emmy award. The Buckeye state was the next step in her career path. She was a general assignment reporter at the ABC affiliate in Dayton and then at NBC 4 here in Columbus.

When Jeanne is not working on “Your Home” , she and her husband, Jeff, are busy with their two little girls, Skyler and Kate. They recently built a house in Dublin where Jeanne has truly enjoyed making it into a home. From indoor decorating to outdoor patio projects she has a passion for home improvement. Much of her inspiration is fueled by her extended family, which has been in the home building business for almost forty years. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty and take on tough tasks.

Jeanne also enjoys golfing and swimming and she can’t wait to teach her girls how to snow ski.
